Many habits are automatic behaviours and a lot of the time we don’t even realise we’re doing them. Treating habits involves addressing any underlying issues that caused the habit to start in the first place, and then breaking the brain’s unconscious association of the habit with comfort, pleasure or reward. Significant improvement with habits is often seen in just one or two sessions.
